Growth
I’ve been dreaming of growing my presence locally.
So far, most of my business has been online (which I’m absolutely so grateful for!), but looking people in the eye and talking about my work has its own special rewards. Working mostly online, I miss out on seeing someone else hold my pieces, roll them over in their hands, and take in some of the energy. Yes, I want to watch you ogle my art!
So YESTERDAY, I sent in my application to the local Durango Farmer’s Market so I can hopefully take part in their seasonal events. If accepted, I would love to see your faces on:
November 21st from 9a-1p @ the TBK Bank parking lot
OR
December 12th from 9a-2p @ La Plata Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall
(I will let you know how the application goes)
Part of the application process was setting up our tent and sending in some photos of my exhibit as well as examples of my work. Seeing my work come to life in a real set up was very exciting. My husband picked some chamisa and russian sage from our yard to fill one of my vases, even though by November I wonder if we’ll have any of those plants left. I collected some of my house plants that were homed in planters I made as well. I feel like it came together really nicely. What do you think?
Initially, I had hoped for having a bright mustard yellow tent! After reading that some art fairs don’t allow anything but a 10x10 white tent, we decided to get a tent that would be more versatile. Now, seeing it up and put together, I like the light and airy feel of a white tent and I think that it allows my pieces to be the eye candy of the space.
So many exciting things happening at fiber&glaze. Thank you for being a part of it. I am looking forward to our future. Maybe one day I’ll have an independent studio space that you can walk into and shop right from the shelves. One can dream!
